New Look for Shell Lubricants

The launch, which took place at Cineleisure, Mutiara Damansara earlier today, was officiated by Dato’ Mohzani Abdul Wahab, Managing Director of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn. Bhd. and Shell Timur Sdn. Bhd.

Shell’s track record in lubricants innovation, stretching back more than 60 years, affords the company a deep understanding of the operation and lubrication needs of engines. Building on this proven heritage, Shell continues to employ leading edge technology to develop lubricant products that deliver protection to modern engines.

In its largest project ever undertaken by Shell Lubricants in Malaysia, the entire range of products’ was reviewed to ensure that it meets the future needs of both consumers and retailers. As part of the changes new user-friendly packs have been introduced that are easy to hold and pour. The colour-coded tiers and impactful labelling make it easier for the consumer to find the right Shell Lubricant product to meet their needs.  Each range has the technical information clearly stated, allowing users to choose the oil that best matches the need of their vehicle type, whether it’s a heavy-duty truck, tractor, car or motorbike.

Dato’ Mohzani said during the launch, “These changes are a result of our commitment to understand and respond to our customers’ changing needs. Through the innovative changes made, we have also managed to reduce the use of plastic in our packs by almost 10%.”

Many professional racing teams, such as Ferrari in Formula 1, Ducati in MotoGP and large fleet companies choose to partner with Shell lubricants and in doing so create an environment that enables Shell to develop and test next generation lubricant products. 

Shell Helix
With more and more drivers taking an interest in the performance and efficiency of their cars, Shell Helix passenger car motor oils offer a new and improved range of product that meets the needs of the everyday motoring.

This comes with new naming system, previously known as Shell Helix Plus and Shell Helix Super. Henceforth, the motor oil brand will be identified with the prefix of Shell Helix HX7 and Shell Helix HX5, respectively.

Shell Helix motor oils contain active cleansing agents that prevent carbon particles from sticking together and forming harmful dirt and sludge. The car’s engine is kept clean and this gives your car maximum performance and protection.

Shell Helix HX7 has been up-graded to API SM with a new lower viscosity 10W-40, while Shell Helix HX5 moves from 20W-50 to 15W-40.  Moving to lower viscosities improves the efficiency of the engine, leading to improved fuel economy.

Shell Rimula
The new Shell Rimula heavy duty lubricants range provides Energised Protection  delivered through “Adaptive Technology”.  The lubricant adapts to physical and chemical changes in the engine to deliver protection from three critical elements – acids, deposits and wear. This adds up to longer engine life and lower maintenance costs.

The Shell Rimula range has six performance tiers, starting with the reliable performance of Shell Rimula R1 through to higher tier synthetic products with Shell Rimula R6. Each tier delivers an increased level of protection from acids, deposits and wear.  
 
Shell Advance

Shell Advance motorcycle oils also come in new look.  The range contains special detergents and Dynamic Performance Additives (DPA) technology that removes stubborn carbon particles, giving more response and keeping the oil at optimum performance up to the next oil change. Motorcycle riders will be able to feel the added power and responsiveness with regular use of Shell Advance.

Shell is also introducing Shell Advance Ultra to the Malaysian bikers. This is our fully synthetic motorcycle oil developed with Ducati and endorsed by current MotorGP World Champion, Ducati Corse.
