Shell Malaysia Companies win 12 MSOSH Awards, including the 1st Platinum Award

Kuala Lumpur, 26 August 2008

Sabah Shell Petroleum Company’s Labuan Crude Oil Terminal won the inaugural Platinum award, which is MSOSH’s highest award. The Platinum award is awarded for ultimate OSH performance and for companies that have won the grand award three times over the years of participation since 2003.

Two Shell Malaysia companies received the Grand award for three facilities - Sarawak Shell Berhad for its Bintulu Integrated Facility and the M3 Gas Complex) and Shell Refining Company for its Port Dickson Refinery.

Sabah Shell Petroleum Company also won the Gold Merit award for its Saint Joseph (SJ) North Sabah Operations.

Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn. Bhd. was awarded the Gold Class 1 awards for the following facilities: Bagan Luar Installation, Labuan Installation, Pasir Gudang Installation, Sandakan Installation, Sepangar Bay Installation, Sibu Installation and Tanjung Gelang Installation.

The annual safety and health performance awards from MSOSH are intended to give due recognition to all member organisations and companies which have achieved commendable safety and health records and/or have shown improvement in occupational safety and health processes through sound safety and health management systems.

Congratulating Shell Malaysia and its employees, Country Chairman of Shell Malaysia, Dato’ Saw Choo Boon said,  “I am proud that Shell Malaysia facilities have received such prestigious recognition for our occupational safety and health management systems.  These outstanding achievements reflect our continuous commitment towards excellence in safety and occupational health at our workplaces.”

The various companies under the Shell Malaysia banner are located across Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak and Sabah.
