Shell Malaysia Announces New Senior Appointments
Rozano bin Saad has been appointed managing director of Shell Refining Company (Federation of Malaya) Berhad (SRC) and general manager of the Port Dickson refinery. Prior to joining SRC, he held several senior positions with the ICI group and was a site director with Huntsman Tioxide (M) Sdn Bhd. Rozano succeeds Raja Ahmad Murad bin Raja Bahrin, who has taken up a new assignment with Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery Company (SASREF) in Saudi Arabia as executive vice president. With this, Rozano also replaces Raja Ahmad Murad as executive director on the board.
Shell Malaysia has also appointed David Lau as finance director. Lau started his career with Shell in Miri and had assumed different roles in both exploration and production (EP), downstream, as well as an assignment in the UK (London and Aberdeen). He spent the last 10 years overseas; in China where he was a finance director and more recently as EP global controller and then EP technical finance vice president based in the EP head office in the Netherlands. In his new capacity, Lau also assumes the role of non-independent and non-executive director of Shell Refining Company replacing Michael Taylor, who recently took up a new role with Brunei Shell Petroleum.
Leslie Hayward assumed the position of country human resource director for Shell Malaysia in July this year. Prior to taking up this new position, he was the HR general manager for Shell Malaysia & Indonesia Downstream/Mergers & Acquisition for Asia-Pacific and before that as the HR country manager for Shell Global Solutions Asia Pacific Service Centre in Kuala Lumpur. He succeeds Jonathan Kohn, who is taking up a new assignment in The Netherlands. Hayward has been with Shell since 1989 after graduating with a BBA from Iowa State University, USA and has since then assumed several roles in human resources in Sarawak, The Hague and Kuala Lumpur.
