Shell Malaysia Appoints A New Chairman
Kuala Lumpur, December 16 2009 – Shell Malaysia announced today the appointment of Encik Mohd Anuar Taib as its Chairman with effect from 1st January 2010. Encik Anuar, currently Vice President Malaysia for Shell Upstream International Asia and Managing Director Sarawak Shell Berhad and Sabah Shell Petroleum Company, will succeed Dato’ Saw Choo Boon, who will assume the role of Senior Adviser to Shell Malaysia effective the same date.

Malaysia's First Shell FuelSave Champion Clocks in 21.344km using 1 Litre of Shell FuelSave and Wins RM50,000 in Prizes
Kuala Lumpur, 12 December 2009 – The nation’s first Shell FuelSave Champion, Mr Lai Tsuen Yung from Johor was crowned following the Shell 1 Litre Challenge – National Finals today when he successfully travelled 21.344km on just 1 litre of Shell FuelSave surpassing the other candidates. The Shell 1 Litre Challenge, which attracted thousands of motorists nationwide to compete to see who can travel the furthest using one litre of Shell FuelSave Unleaded petrol, was the ideal complement following the recent introduction of Shell’s most advanced fuel economy to Malaysia – Shell FuelSave Unleaded petrol.

Over 100 Asian teams Gearing Up for Shell Eco-Marathon Asia 2010
Kuala Lumpur, 1 December 2009 -- Talented students from across Asia are gearing up for the upcoming Shell Eco-marathon (SEM) Asia 2010, a fuel-efficiency challenge. At the close of registration recently, 109 student teams from universities and polytechnics in the region have signed up for the inaugural challenge, to be held at the Sepang International Circuit from 8 -10 July 2010.

Shell Refining posts a year to date profit of RM 298 million
Kuala Lumpur, 12 November 2009: Shell Refining Company (Federation of Malaya) Berhad (“Shell Refining” or the “Company”) today posted an improved year to date after tax earnings of RM298 million compared to 2008 earnings of RM193 million. For the third quarter of 2009, the Company posted a lower after tax loss of RM35 million, compared to losses of RM287million in the corresponding period in 2008.

Miri, 17 September 2009 -- The Shell Group has appointed Mohd Anuar Taib as Vice President, Malaysia for Shell Upstream International Asia with effect from September 23, 2009. He will succeed Dato Wee Yiaw Hin, who is also Managing Director of Sarawak Shell Berhad/Sabah Shell Petroleum Co. Ltd., roles which Anuar will also assume.

Shell launches construction of new wax plant in Bintulu
September 2, 2009, Bintulu, Malaysia - Shell MDS (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Shell) has recently made an investment in a wax plant expansion project at the gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant here in Bintulu. The expansion project was launched by Michiel Kool, Shell’s Executive Vice President, Upstream International Asia.

Shell Refining posts net profit of RM 221 million for Second Quarter 2009
Kuala Lumpur, 27 August 2009: Shell Refining Company (Federation of Malaya) Berhad (“Shell Refining” or the “Company”) today announced an after-tax net profit of RM 221 million for the second quarter 2009, bringing the year to date results to RM 334 million. For 2008, comparable earnings for the quarter and year to date, was RM 357 million and RM 480 million respectively. This decrease is mainly due to lower refining margins and stock gains.

Shell Malaysia Awards RM4.3 Million in Scholarships to Outstanding Students
Shell Malaysia today awarded 30 full scholarships to the value of RM4.3 million to enable outstanding Malaysian talents in Peninsular Malaysia to realise their full potential and pursue pre-university or first-degree studies at approved institutions locally or abroad. In addition, the Shell Student Excellence Awards totalling RM68,000 were presented to 90 students who had achieved excellent academic results.
