1. Which fuels from Shell are currently Euro 4M compliant?
Shell V-Power Racing fuel has been Euro 4M compliant since December 2014, providing customers with better fuel quality and allowing use of Euro 4 vehicles to help meet the more stringent emissions limits. Also, our Shell V-Power 97 fuels have been certified Euro 4M compliant since September 2015.
2. What are the benefits of Shell’s V-Power Euro 4M fuels?
Shell V-Power Euro 4M fuels are highly formulated and designed to deliver improved performance through advanced technology, developed by Shell’s international team of fuel scientists that developed the Shell V-Power race fuels that Shell supplies to Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team.
The impact and benefits of Shell’s V-Power Euro 4M fuels will differ and vary depending on your particular vehicle, fuels that were previously used and style of driving.
Shell V-Power Euro 4M fuels have a lower sulphur content of only 50 ppm (parts per million), compared with the previous Euro 2M standard of 500 ppm sulphur. Shell V-Power Euro 4M fuels are compatible with Euro 4 vehicles that are designed to meet the more stringent emissions regulations.
3. Will fuels under the new Euro 4M standard affect my fuel consumption or vehicle performance?
Accordingly, the new Euro 4M fuel is not expected to affect your fuel consumption or vehicle performance. This is also dependent on the particular vehicle, fuels that were previously used and style of driving. Kindly refer to your car manual or consult your car dealer or engine manufacturer on this as well.
For the more modern Euro 4 vehicles with an engine technology designed to meet the more stringent emissions regulations, fuels meeting Euro 4 specification or higher are a must.
In fact, the unique formulation of our Shell V-Power 97 and Shell V-Power Racing fuels are designed to give drivers improved performance and responsiveness.
4. Can my vehicle use your Shell V-Power Euro 4M fuels?
Shell V-Power Euro 4M fuels are compatible with the more modern Euro 4 engines designed to meet the more stringent emissions regulations. (Yes. Both old and modern vehicles can benefit from Shell V-Power Euro 4M fuels)
5. Can I mix Shell V-Power 97 Euro4M fuel with Shell FuelSave RON 95 Euro 2M fuel currently sold at petrol stations in Malaysia?
There are two elements to this, which is firstly the mixing of fuels with different Octane numbers (ie. RON 97 and RON 95) and secondly the mixing of fuels with different Euro specifications (ie. Euro 2M and Euro 4M).
For the first, refer to your car manual or consult your car dealers or engine manufacturers with regard to the minimum Octane number required for your vehicle. For the second one, if your vehicles are the more modern Euro 4 type that requires Euro 4 fuel specification, it is not advisable.
This is because mixing Euro 4M with Euro 2M fuels will increase the Sulphur content of the fuel in the tank which can have a harmful effect on the emission control systems of Euro 4 vehicles.
6. How does Shell guarantee the quality of its Euro 4M fuel?
Our Shell V-Power Euro 4M fuels are backed by more than a century of experience in fuels development technology, and are strictly produced based on Shell’s global quality control standards and procedures.
