Wax – Shell Sarawax

HIGH QUALITY WAXES FOR A WIDE RANGE OF APPLICATIONS

Shell GTL waxes, under the brand name Shell GTL Sarawax, are specialty waxes produced with high linearity and narrow carbon number distribution, resulting in products suitable for a range of applications ranging from hot melt adhesives, PVC lubricants, printing inks, rubber and tyre to candles, personal care and packaging material.

The unique opaque white appearance of Shell GTL waxes produces true colour brilliance with minimum colouring agents, whilst the high purity and consistent properties are ideal for automated and precision industrial applications.

Our best GTL waxes just got even better.

Technical Specifications

  • Smds website update

The SX90 and SX110 GTL waxes are premium synthetic products with high linearity and narrow carbon number distribution, which makes them suitable for a wide range of industrial applications from hot-melt adhesives, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) lubricants, printing inks, food packaging, fibreboard, plastic processing, candles to coatings.

  • Smds website update

The unique opaque white appearance of these waxes produces true colour brilliance with minimum colouring agents, whilst the high purity and consistent properties are ideal for automated and precision industrial applications.

  • Smds website update

The latest waxes are established for use with metallocene polymer in hot melt adhesive formulations, providing a superior balance in adhesive performance and temperature stability.

  • Smds website update

DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) lab results show the Shell GTL SARAWAX SX90 have the sharpest cut1 with a single sharp peak temperature at about 95 degrees Celsius, which is an extremely narrow molecular weight distribution that allows more effective and reliable process control to increase the final product quality.

  • Smds website update

They also broaden the product application range, from low to high processing and application temperatures, as well as enable high production line speed while reducing energy consumption.

  • Smds website update

Shell GTL SARAWAX SX110 has the highest melting point1 with a DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) end set temperature of more than 120 degrees Celsius, which will help in higher melt temperature applications.
