For Nur Azriza Amira, the trust afforded to her by her superiors allows her to be more adventurous, pushing her out of her comfort zone. The Terminal Operations Supervisor tells us how the organisation caters to each individual’s style of working, right down to their working hours.

“I think that one thing that sets Shell apart is its flexible working hours. And as long as you put in the effort to get the job done, you are allowed the flexibility of how and where you work. For example, there are times where I work from home. I think this is largely in part due to the transparency and open communication we have with each other,” she says.

She further explains to us how the training and development processes with her leaders is built on a strong sense of camaraderie, saying: “Everyone in the office would go all-out to teach you something. It is definitely a friendly working environment that is both fun and challenging at the same time. I would say that I’m very blessed to be able to learn in such a different environment.”

The growth prospects afforded to employees of Shell also motivates her and her team members. She elaborates how the trainings offered are there to guide and shape you in terms of the skills needed to achieve your career goals.

“Shell is very fast-paced. You’re given a guideline of where you should be (in your career goals), but it’s all up to you and how you want to achieve it, and how you want to get to the end goal. So at the end of the day, you have to pave your own way to where you want to be. I think it’s the journey at Shell that makes the job very interesting.”
