Scholarships
Since its inception, the Shell Malaysia Scholarship Programme has benefitted more than 1500 students in pursuing their educational aspirations and provided a unique entrance into the energy industry.
Application will open on the day the SPM results are released in April or May 2026.
Shell Scholarship
The offering is for candidates to be sponsored by 2 tiers A-levels and undergraduates in prestigious colleges and universities locally and overseas. This is subject to the scholastic performance of the student.
We look to sponsor students intending to pursue higher education in the following fields of study:
- Engineering: Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum, Electrical & Electronics, Environmental, Sustainable
- Sciences: Geology, Geosciences, Data Science
- Commercial: Business & Management, Digital Marketing
Eligibility
- Strong leadership skills and active participation in extracurricular activities such as societies and clubs, sports, etc.
- Not presently holding other scholarships/loans
- Consistently strong academic achievements as follows:
- Minimum 8As (A/A+) in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) OR
- Excellent O-level grades at IGCSE (A*/A)
- Before applying, ensure you are eligible to work in the country where the scholarship program is offered.
- Must be 2025 SPM or 2026 O-Level leavers
- Willing to pursue A-levels at selected boarding institution

Applying online will take 5-10 minutes. Save time by connecting your LinkedIn profile to your online application. Go to the Scholarship Application System to start your application.

Virtual Job Tryout and On-Demand Video Interview
After you submit your application, you will be invited to complete the Virtual Job Tryout. You can complete a Realistic Job Preview to learn more about the Shell Assessed Internship and Graduate Programmes. Once you complete the Virtual Job Tryout, you will start the On-Demand Video Interview. You will have as much time as you need to prepare for each of the three questions, and then you will have two minutes to record your response. The Virtual Job Tryout and On-Demand Video Interview will take approximately 40 minutes. You can save your progress, but it does have to be completed within 7 days of receiving the invitation.

Final Assessment & Competency-Based Interview
Applicants to the Shell Malaysia Scholarship Programme will complete a virtual interview with the Scholarship Board of Trustees on scenario-based questions and your academic and leadership experiences. This allows us to get to know you better and for you to get to know us better.
