My name is Shaiful Rahman. I’m the manager here. I’m all in one. I do everything.

Hands flipping dough and spreading it. The dough is placed on the pan to begin cooking. Shaiful is pouring tea into various glasses to be served.

[Shaiful]

When the customers come here they want food that’s fast and delicious.

The faster, the better. When there’s quality, customers are satisfied.

If there are 100 customers, I will put 2 to 3 workers here so that we can send the 100 orders out as fast as we can and make sure it’s delicious.

I have to get involved, otherwise things will get stuck.

Shaiful is checking drink orders for accuracy, making sure that everything on the tray is correct before picking up the tray to deliver to customers. The camera follows him as he walks through the restaurant. Shaiful puts the drinks on a table for his customers

My job is to take orders, make roti, fry food, and make drinks.

Kak Murni is applying make-up to a bride in her shop while speaking to the camera. She applies nail polish to her nails and tops up makeup from her palette.

I am known as Kak Murni. I am a ‘Mak Andam’.

At a mirror, Kak Murni is applying make up to another bride. She fluffs pillows on the wedding bed and lays out the wedding dress and jewellery for the bride.

[Murni]

Besides makeup, I organise the wedding from A to Z. My job is to make sure that everything goes smoothly.

[Animated Sequence]

Kak Murni is outside at the wedding banquet taking notes and giving her team instructions on set up. Cut to a wide view of the house and wedding entrance where she is instructing her workers on where decorations will be placed

[Murni]

Actually, I can’t do it alone. We will sit down together as a team, where I delegate tasks according to who’s best suited for the role and ensure they complete the tasks well.

[Animated Sequence]

Cut to inside the wedding home – Kak Murni is leading the team in decorating the pelamin. Cut to split screens of close-ups of individual decorations being set up. Placing decorations on the chandelier, preparing various flowers in vases. Cut to a time lapse of Murni and her team setting up the entire area, flowers, chandeliers and other decorations are being placed.

[Murni]

We need to have a schedule and be time sensitive. That’s the most important. If we’re not efficient at managing the wedding, it will be chaotic.

Cut to a timelapse of a front-on view of the pelamin. The elements are all set up as the time lapse moves with flowers, chandeliers and tables all being set up for the pelamin. Cut to Kak Murni speaking to the camera, after which we cut to her placing the final touches on a brides pink dress.
