Dato Amilia as she is fondly known, started off her career as a landscape and building contractor before she ventured into becoming a Shell retailer in 2004. She started off with a small Shell station in Terengganu. Within two years, her hardwork and dedication paid off as she was upgraded as a retailer for the Shell Seremban R&R South bound station. Today, this enterprising lady owns two other retail stations inclusive of the Shell KM55 Karak Highway stations; one heading towards Kuantan and one heading towards Kuala Lumpur.

The dynamic single mother of three believes that self-confidence and a ‘never give-up’ attitude are keys in shaping a successful woman. She also stresses that when faced with challenges, one’s focus should be on how to overcome these challenges rather than dwelling in them, as these are merely passing clouds which can be overcome by a right attitude.

As one who believes in giving back to the society, Dato Amilia bought a boat and contributed food and clothes to victims in villages during the flood season. She also collaborated with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and came up with face shields and sanitisers during the pandemic, in which she contributed to people in villages, while educating them on the importance of the usage of these items. Besides that, she has food banks in all three of her stations that provide free food provisions for the underprivileged. Dato Amilia also runs cooking classes for single mothers to increase their income while hiring the ‘Orang Asli’ community in Karak to work in her stations, as a way for them to increase their livelihood.
