How do I request an e-invoice?
E-invoice facilitation is enabled at petrol stations depending on the implementation stages as announced by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM). You can refer to the IRBM portal for the latest update. For stations that have gone live with e-invoice, customers may request the final receipt from the station. The e-invoice QR code will be available at the bottom of the receipt for scanning and submission.

Please request the e-invoice within the same month of purchase, as it will only be available in the system during that month. The e-invoice will not be accessible in the following month.

You can request the e-invoice for a particular transaction only once. Therefore, please ensure all the information submitted is correct in your submission. Once e-invoice for a transaction is generated, we cannot re-generate another e-invoice for the same transaction again.

No, you cannot update your details once the request is submitted.

Enter your full name exactly as it appears on your official documents such as MyKad. Ensure there are no spelling errors as e-invoice cannot be regenerated for the same transaction.

Your email address should be in the standard format: username@domain.com. Ensure it is a valid and active email address, as the e-invoice copy will be sent to this address.
How should I enter my phone number?

Enter your phone number in the international format, starting with the country code. For Malaysia, the country code is +60. For example, if your phone number is 012-3456789, you should enter it as +60123456789 without any spaces or dashes.

A Tax Identification Number (TIN) is a unique number assigned to individuals and businesses for tax purposes. If you have a TIN, you should provide it. This is especially important for businesses to ensure proper tax documentation. You can check for your TIN via MyTax portal (https://mytax.hasil.gov.my) or via HASiL Care Line at +603-8911 1000 / +603-8911 1100 (for overseas inquiries).

Yes, you can request an e-invoice without a Tax Identification Number (TIN). While providing a TIN is mandatory for businesses to ensure proper tax documentation, it is not mandatory for individual customers. If you do not have a TIN, you can leave that field blank when submitting your e-invoice request.

For Non-Individual/Companies: Enter your Tax Identification Number (TIN) without any spaces or dashes & remove the zero (0) after prefix. For example, if your TIN is C 01234-567-89, you should enter it as C1234567890. Please note that non-individual TIN always ends with zero ‘0’.
For Individuals: Effective 2 January 2023, the prefix SG/OG is converted to IG. The numeric characters remain unchanged. For example, SG115002000 is converted to IG115002000. Please ensure there is no space between the prefix and numbers. For example: TIN numbers IG 115002000 should be entered as IG115002000.

A Malaysian taxpayer can check their TIN on the front page of their individual income tax return or through MyTax Portal at https://mytax.hasil.gov.my under the “e-Daftar” menu.

For all types of companies incorporated in Peninsular Malaysia; and companies in Sabah/Sarawak incorporated as Sdn Bhd:
The Business Registration Number is a 12-digit number issued by SSM. It starts with the year of registration, followed by a 2-digit code representing the type of business entity, and ends with a unique 6-digit sequence number. For example, 202405123456. For companies incorporated before October 11, 2019, the new 12-digit BRN has been assigned alongside the old format. Existing companies can obtain their new BRN from SSM’s online portals such as e-Search, e-info, and MyData services.
For companies in Sabah and Sarawak under the structure of Sole Proprietor and Partnership:
The Business Registration Number is the unique number issued to your business and is written on the business registration certificate issued by your respective local councils. Please ensure that you enter the correct and same business registration number as per the details registered in your MyTax/MyInvois portal.

The NRIC Number is a unique 12-digit number issued to Malaysian citizens and permanent residents and is used by the IRBM to identify its taxpayers. For example, if your IC value is 801122-14-1234, you should enter it as 801122141234 without any spaces or dashes.

You can track the status of your e-invoice request by rescanning the QR code present on the receipt for which the e-invoice is requested. The status will be updated and displayed for you to check once it is validated.

If you notice an error in your e-invoice details, follow these steps to correct it:
1. Review the Invoice: Carefully review the e-invoice to identify all errors. Make a note of the incorrect details.
2. Contact Retailer: Reach out to the Retailer of the station where the purchase was made. Provide them with your invoice number and the specific details that need correction.

You can request individual e-invoices for each transaction. This might be preferable if you need separate invoices for different purposes or departments.
Can I receive the e-invoice in PDF format?
Can I receive the e-invoice in PDF format?
Once your e-invoice request is processed and validated successfully, you will receive an email with the e-invoice attached as a PDF file. Make sure to check your inbox and spam/junk folder. Please note that providing a working e-mail address is important to receive a copy of the e-invoice by email.
