Selangor – Shell Malaysia continued with its second leg of 2011 Regional Shell FuelSave Challenges by announcing Mr Lee Chee Koon as the Selangor state winner.
The Public Relations Practitioner clocked in 26.6 kilometres on one litre of Shell FuelSave 95 along a route of 110 kilometres and won RM3,000 worth of prizes. He will now be in the running to win RM50, 000 in the 2011 Grand Finals in October.
“My interest to participate in the Shell FuelSave Challenge was sparked when I saw the advertisement which shouts the message of fuel efficiency. Savings is a big part of my lifestyle and I have always been looking for new ways to save money. Taking part in this Challenge, I now know how to burn less fuel while travelling. The Shell FuelSave tips are not just useful, but also practical for someone who drives frequently like me!” said Mr Lee. He also added, “On top of that, I am excited to be competing at the Grand Finals alongside the Johor and Penang State winners. In the mean time, I will practice the Shell FuelSave tips and hopefully be able to become Malaysia’s Shell FuelSave Challenge Champion by clocking in the furthest mileage.”
Policeman Tan Moh Chuan won the Johor State Shell FuelSave Challenge last weekend by clocking 29.45 kilometres on one litre of Shell FuelSave 95 and using the Shell FuelSave tips. He and the state winner from Penang will be joined by Mr Lee at the Grand Finals in October 2011.
Mr Leslie Ng, Retail National Sales Manager of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd who hosted the event said, “Nowadays, more and more motorists are looking for ways to cut back on spending without compromising their lifestyle. The Shell FuelSave Challenge, which depicts real city driving conditions, aims to demonstrate just how far Malaysian motorists can go with Shell FuelSave 95, accompanied with simple and practical Shell FuelSave tips.”
In addition, fans will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with Fahrin Ahmad, the Shell FuelSave Ambassador who will be making special appearances during the Shell FuelSave Challenge recruitment roadshow to be held in Penang next weekend. “As the Shell FuelSave Ambassador, there is nothing better than knowing that I am helping fellow Malaysians to improve their fuel consumption and driving styles. I too feel the pinch of the global economic situation as my job requires me to drive from one location to another. Thus, by being a part of this Challenge, participants will be able to educate, encourage and promote to other motorists Shell FuelSave tips, as well as the importance in choosing the right fuel for your car,” said the Shell FuelSave Ambassador.
To participate in the Shell FuelSave Challenge, motorists aged 24 and above, with five years of driving experience are encouraged to head over to Shell FuelSave Roadshows to answer a few questions and go though the elimination process. The next Shell FuelSave Challenge recruitment roadshow will take place in Sunway Carnival, Penang (3 – 5 June 2011).
