Update 2 @845pm: Tanker Train Collision in Kota Kinabalu

Shell Timur Sdn Bhd is relieved that all passengers of the train have been accounted for, in the accident which occurred yesterday evening involving a Shell-contracted tanker and a passenger train in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
We understand from the Police that the 12 injured passengers were brought immediately to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical treatment of which nine have been discharged. Three remain warded at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and we wish them a speedy recovery.
The Police have commenced their investigation into the cause of accident and the owners of the tanker company involved are extending their full cooperation in the investigation. Shell remains in constant contact with the relevant authorities and are following the situation closely.
As an immediate safety precaution, we have ceased operations at the petrol station until further notice.
Work is continuing on site to clean up the remnants of the product spillage caused by the accident and the situation is under control. The emergency response team continues to work with The Department of Environment and all other relevant authorities on the situation.
