Senior Leadership Appointment – VP Malaysia, Shell Upstream International and Chairman Shell Malaysia

Datuk Anuar Taib, currently VP Malaysia, Upstream International, and Country Chair Malaysia, has elected to leave the Company, effective 30th June, to pursue other opportunities.
Datuk Anuar will be replaced by Iain Lo, currently VP New Business Development & Ventures, Chemicals, with effect from 1st July; and Iain will be based in Kuala Lumpur.
Datuk Anuar, a Well Engineer by discipline, has worked for Shell since 1990, in a variety of technical and business development positions in both Asia and the United States. He has been instrumental in shaping a strong future for Shell in Malaysia, and has been an active champion of the Asian talent agenda. We would like to thank Datuk Anuar for his contributions to Shell and to wish him well in his further endeavours.
Iain joined Shell in 1990 and began his Shell career as a field engineer in Exploration and Production in Miri, Malaysia. He undertook a wide variety of front-end engineering, economics and corporate roles in exploration and production in Malaysia before moving to Shell EP International Ventures in The Hague in 1996, where he was responsible for developing opportunities in North East Asian pipelines.
In 1998, Iain moved to Gas and Power, where he was General Manager for LNG joint ventures in Malaysia, based in Kuala Lumpur. He then moved to Singapore as General Manager for commercial governance of the Sakhalin joint venture.
In 2005, Iain was appointed Senior Regional Advisor for Shell’s businesses in the Asia Pacific region, based in The Hague. He joined Shell Chemicals as Vice President APME Ventures and Developments in 2006, based in Singapore, and became Vice President New Business Development and Ventures in 2009.
Iain was appointed a Board Member to the Singapore Economic Development Board in 2009. He is chair of the Asian Talent Council and personally committed to strengthening the pipeline of Asian talent.
